+++ INTRACOM: New Contract, worth 6 M USD, with the Ministry of Labor
& Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova +++
INTRACOM signed a new contract, worth 6 M USD, with
the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova
for the supply, implementation, commissioning and rollout of the Social
Protection Information Technology System (SPIS) of the country. Intracom
was awarded the project following an international open tender.
The project is funded by World Bank and its duration is 18 months.
The aim of the project is the development of an Information System that
will critically contribute to the standardization and simplification of
procedures, and thus to the modernization of the Moldovian Ministry of
Labor & Social Protection infrastructure.
In particular, the contract provides for: design and supply of application
software and required hardware meeting the Ministry requirements, as well
as implementation of the full system at Ministry head office and 41 district
offices throughout Moldova.
The new system will establish and maintain, among others, a records keeping
system of companies' and insured persons' registries and contributions,
as well as award and pay pensions, benefits, compensations and other payments
to the insured persons. Furthermore, the system will provide proposals
regarding the state social insurance budget and present reports on the
budget fulfillment.
Both the Ministry and the insured individuals will benefit from the operation
of this Information System. In particular, the Ministry will become more
efficient and transparent, while the insured individuals will be timely,
easily and quickly served. Additionally, the system will substantially
contribute to the improvement of the Moldovian state mechanism, since
it will allow for effective management of insurance resources.
In undertaking this project, INTRACOM strengthens its position as a key
player in the provision of specialized applications in the area of social
insurance, as well as of e-government solutions in the wider region.
