OUR KNOWLEDGE

45 years of experience in the implementation of complex projects of high specialization and high added value.

For almost half a century, technology has been at the heart of INTRACOM HOLDINGS growth model that is supported by substantial investments in proprietary R&D and new product development. Over the years, we selectively diversified our portfolio, timely entering in high-growth sectors such as construction, real estate and energy. We are currently broadening our investment horizon and reshaping the company’s profile.

1977

INTRACOM is founded by Socratis Kokkalis. 

1982

Rapid expansion in the design, development and production of telecommunications products and systems.

Reinvestment reaches 80% of annual profits with the objective to develop proprietary technology and know-how.

1984

Relocation to new, company-owned facilities in Peania.

1985

Development of an advanced infrastructure for the research, development and production of cutting edge telecommunication systems.

Expansion into the energy infrastructure sector.

1986

Participation in the modernization and digitalization of Greece’s national telecommunications network with the majority of systems manufactured in Greece by Greek engineers.

1987

Five-year, 5.5 billion GRD investment plan.

The first company in Greece to utilize automated industrial production methods.

Establishment of Intrasoft.

1988

Launch of the gigantic project to upgrade and modernize Greece’s national telecommunications network. Agreement to supply the Greek telecom OTE with AXE-10 digital exchanges, in cooperation with Ericsson.

Agreement with OPAP, the state-licensed lottery and sports-betting operator, for the supply and installation of an advanced IT system.

1989

Installation of the first digital exchange in Greece for OTE, the country’s national telecom organization.

1990

Listing of Intracom on the Athens Stock Exchange.

Extensive application of robotics in production.

Establishment of quality control procedures.

1991

The first Greek company to be certified under the ISO 9001 international quality standard.

Deployment of a modern telecommunications network in Piraeus and implementation of the first national energy management and control system for the Greek PPC.

Exports account for 12% of annual turnover.

1992

Entry into the defense electronics sector.

Participation in Panafon, Vodafone’s Greek venture.

Establishment of Intralot and Intrakat.

Emphasis on the development of access network systems.

1993

Establishment of Intracom in Romania.

Establishment of a state of the art microelectronics center. The company’s software development center produces and exports telecommunications applications.

Installation of the Attica telecommunications ring network.

Awarded the development of the TAXIS national tax revenue system.

1994

Assignment of large scale defense projects for the Hellenic Armed Forces.

1995

Launch of the first computerized version of the PRO-PO sports lottery.

Intracom microelectronics center recognized as a national hub for industrial research, design and development.

1996

Agreement with NDS, a subsidiary of News Corp., for the development of data transmission and Internet access systems via satellite.

Establishment of INTRASOFT International in Luxemburg.

Total investments in the 1990-1996 period reach 44 billion GRD.

1997

The installation of OPAP’s on line computer network is initiated.

The IoS (Internet over Satellite) product receives a European award.

1988

Initial production and sales of the Netmod ISDN modem in Greece and abroad.

1999

Business activities in over 40 countries.

Undertaking of network infrastructure deployment for mobile providers Cosmorom and Cosmote.

Significant participation in modernization programs for the Hellenic Armed Forces, and NATO and WEAG research programs.

2000

Exclusive strategic alliance with Cisco Systems.

New projects for the modernization of the telecommunications networks of Armenia and Moldova.

Adoption of the IoS software product by the Ministry of Education of Japan.

e-VAT ranked among the four best systems operating in Europe.

Exports account for 50% of total sales.

2001

Exports to more than 50 countries.

The first Greek company to be certified under the ISO 9001:2000 Quality standard.

2002

The Intracom-Intrasoft merger creates a powerful enterprise with annual sales of €1 billion.

International reach extends to 55 countries.

Establishment of the non-profit Athens Information Technology (AIT) center for excellence.

2003

Participation in consortium selected as the exclusive supplier of IT equipment to the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.

2004

Distinguished as one of the top-10 Greek and one of the top-100 European companies with the best work environment.

2005

Intracom is transformed into a holding company and renamed Intracom Holdings, parent company of newly created subsidiaries Intracom Telecom, Intracom IT Services and Intracom Defense Electronics (IDE).

2006

INTRACOM HOLDINGS fully acquires HOL (hellas on line).

JSC Sitronics, a subsidiary of JSFC Sistema, acquires a 51% stake in Intracom Telecom.

2007

Agreement for the acquisition of Attica Telecommunications by HOL.

Cooperation agreement between HOL and Vodafone.

2008

Intracom IT Denmark acquires Eskort, while INTRASOFT International acquires Lavisoft’s SAP department.

IDE signs landmark agreements worth €45 million.

Intrakat undertakes public and private sector fiber optics, telecommunications and energy projects.

HOL is listed on the Athens Exchange.

2009

Intracom IT Services expands internationally, signing cooperation agreements in vertical markets with leading organizations.

IDE signs production and support agreements worth €71 million with NATO’s Maintenance and Supply Agency and Raytheon.

Intrakat undertakes new fiber optics, telecommunications and energy projects.

2010

Intracom IT signs new software development and support agreements worth over €40 million in Europe and the Middle East.

IDE signs new agreements with Northrop Grumman, Raytheon and the US Army.

Intrakat undertakes new environmental projects and expands into the renewable energy sector through its subsidiaries.

Intracom Telecom signs new contracts worth €196 million.

2011

Intracom IT Services merges into Intrasoft International.

HOL improves EBITDA by 25%, profit margin by 26.3% and generates free cash flow for the first time. It also receives the Marketing Excellence Grand Award.

Intrakat undertakes major public sector construction projects.

2012

Intrasoft International provides information, telecommunication and software development services to EU agencies and state organizations in the Middle East and Africa worth over €136 million.

Intrakat undertakes new major public sector construction and telecommunications projects.

HOL reports improved sales and revenues and is the first to launch cloud services in Greece.

IDE signs major agreements worth €50 million, is ISO 27001 certified and receives Supplier Excellence Award from Raytheon.

2013

Intrakat undertakes major railway and road construction infrastructure projects in joint venture and on its own.

Intrasoft International undertakes major projects on behalf of the European Commission and the Greek state.

IDE signs new agreements with Germany’s Diehl BGT Defense and RAMSys.

HOL receives an e-volution award, an effie award and three sales excellence awards.

2014

Following an agreement with Vodafone-Panafon, INTRACOM HOLDINGS transfers its holding in HOL, at an enterprise value of € 311m.

INTRACOM HOLDINGS signs an agreement with Dubai investors for the sale of its 49% interest in Intracom Telecom for €47 million total benefit.

Deleveraging results in net reduction of debt from €254 million to €34 million and of outstanding loan guarantees from €422 million to €165 million.

IDE receives a Supplier Excellence Award from Raytheon.

Intrasoft International is recognized as National Champion Luxembourg during the European Business Awards 2014/15, ranked among top 16% during the Software Testing World Cup 2014 and honored with a Human Resource Excellence Award.

2017

Intrakat signs agreements totaling € 357 million with Fraport Greece for the construction projects at the 14 regional airports of Greece.

HOL improves EBITDA by 25%, profit margin by 26.3% and generates free cash flow for the first time. It also receives the Marketing Excellence Grand Award.

Intrakat undertakes major public sector construction projects.

2018

Fostering its R&D potential, IDE participates in OCEAN2020, the most important project related to the first European Defense Fund’s initiative to boost Europe’s defense capabilities. OCEAN2020 is the first example of a cross-European military research program under the Preparatory Action initiative.

As part of its strategic development plan based on technological innovation INTRASOFT invests in predictive analytics market with start-up WEMETRIX.

2019

Significant agreements in all sectors.

IDE is awarded for its extroversion at the “CREATIVE GREECE – Awards 2019”, with exports in recent years reaching 98% of its turnover. This recognition is even more significant since these results were achieved in adverse international and national financial conditions and in a strong competitive environment.

2020

IDE is the leader in European Defense programs LOTUS and SMOTANET to be funded by the European Defense Industrial Development Program (EDIDP). IDE’s proposals were selected from 40 submitted, after evaluation by an EU Committee of Experts with criteria: their contribution to excellence, innovation, competitiveness in the European defense industry and EU’s industrial autonomy.

Sale of 100% of K-Wind in excellent market terms.

Group’s Backlog is picking up at over 1 bn.

The Group responds effectively to COVID-19 pandemic and ensures business continuity.

2021

IDE signs important cooperation agreements with market leaders worldwide (Marshall Aerospace and Defense Group, BOEING, Diehl, Rheinmetall) and strengthens its presence in European research programs.

INTRAKAT, as part of its new strategy, is proceeding with the absorption of GAIA ANEMOS, which is active in the field of RES, holding licenses to produce electricity with a capacity of more than 1GW.

INTRADEVELOPMENT proceeds with the sale of its stake in DEVENETCO and through it in the Kalo Livadi project with a return of close to 200%.

In November, an extremely important deal is announced for INTRACOM, the sale of INTRASOFT INTERNATIONAL to NETCOMPANY. This particular transaction differentiates the Company’s profile by expanding its investment horizon.

2022

INTRACOM HOLDINGS proceeds with the sale of its participation in INTRAKAT, retaining a 5.09% participation in the company.c

INTRACOM DEFENSE received the “Research – Innovation and Technological Development” Award of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Establishment of INTRACOM VENTURES, a 100% subsidiary of INTRACOM HOLDINGS, with an initial share capital of  € 30M

Relocation to new, company-owned facilities in Maroussi

2023

Completion of the Company’s real estate sector spin-off  and establishment of a new company, INTRACOM PROPERTIES, a 100% subsidiary.

Signing of MOU with the main shareholders of K.L.M. S.A., for the acquisition of  participation in the company. Following the  acquisition of shares from INTRACOM PROPERTIES  at 12/5/2023, the Group’s participation in K.L.M. ascends in total to 74,20%, thus a mandatory public offer will follow.

Signing of binding agreement with ISRAEL AEROSPACE INDUSTRIES Ltd (IAI) for the sale of 90,91% stake, held by the Group in INTRACOM DEFENSE (IDE).
